Srednja ekonomska škola i gimnazija Maribor ../../../../en/srednja-ekonomska-skola-i-gimnazija-maribor/ Fri, 14 May 2021 08:46:48 +0000 ../../../../?p=396 Maribor High School of Economics and Gymnasium has about 450 students and 40 teachers. It is located in the center of Maribor, near the railway station. Students come from Maribor and its surroundings.

SES-MB is a vocational school and high school focused on entrepreneurship, as well as preparing students for further education at the university. 25 years ago, they were the first school in Slovenia to launch a virtual company, which is now the standard for all economic schools in the country. Another focus of the school is the development of active (and digital) civic competences among students and teachers.

CONTRIBUTION OF THE PARTNERS TO THE ALTIA PROJECT:

SES-MB is a school very well equipped with modern technology. The school uses the BYOD model of using technology in the classroom. They are part of the national project "Innovative learning environment supported by ICT" (Innovative learning environment supported by ICT), where possibilities for introducing new methods and approaches to learning are explored in order to increase students' motivation, develop their competences, interest in lifelong learning and how students would deepen their learning. Teachers attend monthly trainings on the development of their own digital skills and competencies.

Maja Vičič Krabonja, project manager at SES_MB, was involved in most of the national projects for the introduction of ICT in schools in the last decade. She is an experienced teacher trainer on the subject of modern didactics and the introduction of ICT in the teaching and learning process. Zavod Antona Martina Slomšeka ../../../../en/zavod-antona-martina-slomseka/ Fri, 14 May 2021 08:43:27 +0000 ../../../../?p=392 The Institute of Anton Martin Slomšek was founded in 1995 with the aim of establishing the Škofijska Anton Slomšek high school under his patronage. The Institute of Anton Martin Slomšek contains several organizational units to achieve its purpose: the AMS gymnasium, the Montessori crèche, the home for AMS students, the AMS Music and Ballet School and the Intergenerational Academy.

The purpose of the institution is to ensure a safe and quality stay for family members of active generations of the population, which means - for preschool children, students in the process of education or those who are no longer completely independent due to age. Coexistence within the institution means the exchange of experiences and needs of generations that could contribute to a high level of active, creative and quality life. With this concept, the institution opens a new model of educational and social approach that represents a response to social problems concerning the alienation of the older generation from the course of life and the young generation from the roots of the past.

For this purpose, ZAMS develops and nurtures its own intergenerational pedagogy and social care. ZAMS has recently been developing modern approaches to teaching, including the use of interactive whiteboards, and is spreading them throughout the Slovenian territory. In 2011, they started using 1:1 pedagogy in their classes. Now their experience is being transferred to 10 Slovenian schools that have started with 1:1 pedagogy. To this end, they have set global goals that can serve as guidelines for further work and development:

• Reduce the digital border and encourage e-engagement of all generations,

• Increase competences for the 21st century (critical thinking, creativity, ability to solve problems, ...)

• Improve the success and competitiveness of students

• To improve the teaching and learning process of teachers

• Develop a new teaching culture based on information and communication technology with the student at the center (flexibility, personalization, combined different teaching styles)

• Develop students' social competences.

The institution's vision in the next 5 years is to continue its recognition on the Slovenian territory as a renowned intergenerational center and the first innovative school in Slovenia that connects all generations with the help of innovative approaches and information and communication technologies. The desire is also to pay attention to the development of self-initiative and ingenuity, which represent the ability of individuals to apply their ideas in practice, with the aim of motivating as many young people as possible to develop their own entrepreneurial ideas. For the incubation of ideas, it is necessary to develop, above all, an innovative and creative environment (student incubator).

CONTRIBUTION OF THE PARTNERS TO THE ALTIA PROJECT:

ZAMS tries to provide a safe environment for students. This covers the area of education, social skills development and personal growth. Students can benefit from tools already applied in our institution, such as mediation, negotiation, daily meetings with educators and trainers, workshops, discussions and more. The power of social and emotional skills should not be underestimated, because especially young adults face difficult (everyday) situations that can be dealt with appropriately if they have the tools to do so.

Aquilonis ../../../../en/aquilonis/ Fri, 14 May 2021 08:39:21 +0000 ../../../../?p=387 Aquilonis d.o.o. (coordinator)

Aquilonis d.o.o. was founded in 2005 as the first Croatian company specializing in knowledge management. The company's mission is to encourage the use of effective teaching methods through research, teaching educators and specialized projects. Aquilonis designed, developed and introduced a number of projects in the field of ICT application in education (www.aquilonis.hr/Poslovanje /projekti.html): Special needs education portal, Special needs education workshops, introduced, designed, organized and realized series of webinars: "Let's learn together" (54), International exchange of educational practice (18), Virtual round tables on education (17), Croatian Community of Technical Culture and Croatian Society of Robotics, Agency for Mobility and EU Programs (7), Programming in Python - IPAQ Peta (10) - within the framework of the project Affirmative teaching and innovative learning and teaching in gymnasiums within the framework of the Croatian qualification framework, Photographs (10) and literature (97).

Aquilonis helped or was a subcontractor in many, and participated in six projects funded by the EU, always with the role of applying ICT for knowledge transfer: "Once upon a time... in Europe" ("Best European practice" recognition), LASTTI - Lighthouses and Stations . Trip to Ithaca, ESchool4S, Handbook for reluctant, struggling and poor readers, EU project "From education to employment through the modernization of the curriculum of maritime vocational schools" - Naval School Bakar, Science+ Project of the "Vladimir Prelog" School of Natural Sciences from Zagreb, which designed 15 new optional subject, KKZ_Unlimited_EU_projekt Therefore, what Aquilonis continuously develops and applies is the learning methodology. This methodology is based on research on learning theories (http://learning-theories.zesoi.fer.hr).

It is additionally shaped and refined by rich teaching experience that is continuously tested on schoolchildren and students; teachers, professors and principals; workers and managers; politicians and top management; pensioners, and people with special needs in a wide range of areas: from science and technology, through business, technical and management skills to personal skills and even dance. In addition, 20 years of experience in the development and use of information and communication technologies in education have been carefully incorporated into learning and teaching methodologies with only one goal: to improve learning outcomes and make learning a more enjoyable and effective activity.

The key features of Aquilonis' teaching methodology are: active participation of students, solving real problems and reinforcing what has been learned during and after education.

Director of Aquilonis, Ph.D. In addition to working on the aforementioned projects, at the University of Zagreb, Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, Predrag Pale introduced (4) or modernized (2) a total of six subjects in which ICT is intensively used for learning and teaching: Systems for managing and monitoring processes, Data multimedia transmission and computer networks, Software support for measurement and process systems, Computer forensics, Communication skills and Digital education. In addition to the systematic recording and publication of recordings of his lectures, he introduced automatic recording of lectures, as well as computer knowledge testing, unsupervised taking of exams from home and computer generation of complex exam tasks and socially useful learning.

Aquilonis' great contribution to the management and management of both the EU and all other projects that it managed or was a partner in is reflected in the work of its employees, who are professionals in the field of project management. They are organized, passionate, goal-oriented people, focused on completing specific projects, ensuring that activities are carried out on time, within scope and financial investment. In addition to the above, Aquilonis project managers know how to avoid risks or at least reduce their impact, and finally, they understand how important reports are to proper documentation. They make sure that all project requirements are met, including what was done, who was involved, and what could be done better in the future.

CONTRIBUTION OF THE COORDINATOR TO THE ALTII PROJECT:

Among other things, Aquilonis' lecturers passed on their knowledge to others: for example, to INI managers, who were taught about project management and personal development through interactive and workshop work (workshops were held: Project Management, Change Management, Stress Management, Quality Management, Risk Management, Knowledge management, presentation skills and meeting management... ). During this education, the managers worked on their project proposals from the scope of INA.

The Coca Cola HBC Hrvatska company engaged the Aquilonis company and four of its experts on the Coca-Cola Youth Support project - a project aimed at increasing the competences and employability of young unemployed people who have completed formal education. Experts from the Aquilonis company held a series of lectures and workshops in the field of business planning for young people throughout Croatia and encouraged them to turn their ideas into a good business plan.

About 20 years ago, Aquilonis was among the first in Croatia to organize and implement the preparation for PMP certification.

About 10 years ago, a system for online teaching and courses was introduced (example: Veneto banka - money laundering).

The task of Aquilonis as project manager, in this project, will be carried out through the triangle of project functions of planning, monitoring and project control. With their experience, Aquilonis' employees are ready with their competences to purposefully and objectively plan both the temporal and financial development of the project, to project the development of the project team through designed and project-stimulating dynamics of its filling and emptying, to foresee tools that will support the work of the project team, to apply appropriate procurement models project resources, establish clear relationships within the project team that will not be burdened by mutual competition, but will be based on mutual understanding and encouragement. Because the members of the project team will have a common goal, which will be realized through the results of a series of mutually coordinated, motivating intermediate goals.

Aquilonis designed, organized and managed a number of projects and events for the Microsoft "Partner's in learning" program that lasted from 2007-2013. He organized the European Forum of Innovative Teachers in 2008 and virtual workshops for teachers of children with special needs, as well as the first Croatian and international webinars. He successfully cooperates with the elementary school in the special hospital Krapinske toplice on the project of training young adults with special needs. The goal of the training is to increase their ICT skills in order to improve their employment opportunities.

He was a partner in the Comenius network project "eSchool4S" (E-school for sustainability in the Danube region), whose goal was the inclusion of sustainable development in the high school curriculum. The idea was to create a platform that would connect stakeholders, teachers and students of the Danube region. A key part of the project implementation was the digital classroom, accompanied by appropriate teaching materials and resources (texts, videos, links to websites, activities for students, knowledge test, etc.). The materials were developed by project partners. Within this project, Aquilonis was in charge of teacher training, designed to help teachers use the platform, materials and resources at their disposal.

EU project: “Lighthouses and Stations. Trip to Ithaca"

He was a partner in the Erasmus + project "Lighthouses and Stations: Trip to Ithaca". The goal of the project was to create a pedagogical guide for teachers in adult education institutions across Europe. Special emphasis is placed on young people who have left school and immigrants. In the guide, teachers can find useful information for the application of ICT and a range of entrepreneurial skills. The topic of migration in Europe was brought closer to the students through films, which is why the students easily identified with the topic and got involved in the learning process. Useful results were achieved during the project, Aquilonis created and designed a dictionary with lessons for basic communication that provides users with easy access to useful words and phrases in English, Croatian, Spanish, Portuguese, Slovenian and Greek. The inspiration for creating the dictionary was the invaluable experiences of migrants who shared their experiences with language barriers and difficulties in a foreign country without knowing the language. The partners themselves produced documentaries about migrant experiences. Aquilonis was a project partner in the Grundtvig educational partnership "Once Upon a Time in Europe", whose goal was to encourage reading in the >50-year-old population. The Moodle platform was used to present the work of project partners and participants. The project was recognized as "European best practice" and the Aquilonis company is the first project partner in Croatia to receive such an important and prestigious award. He was also a partner in the Erasmus+ project "Handbook for reluctant, struggling and poor readers". The goal of the project was to help secondary school teachers, as well as all those interested in working with indecisive, struggling and poor readers.
